About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) ward at Whanganui Hospital.

\

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in delivering comprehensive clinical assessments and interventions, working closely with patients and their whanau to support recovery and promote independence.

\

About the Team/Service\

Our Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) ward at Whanganui Hospital is home to a dedicated and passionate team focused on delivering exceptional care to patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions.

\

We pride ourselves on our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach where nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals work closely together to support patients and their whanau through recovery.

About You\

  • You are a passionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care with a strong focus on stroke and rehabilitation.\
  • You thrive in a team environment and bring empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail to everything you do.\
  • Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate and relevant nursing qualification\
  • Genuine passion for stroke care and rehabilitation\
  • Strong team and customer-focused approach with a commitment to supporting patients and their whanau\
  • Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of patient care, communication, documentation, and adherence to policy and process\
  • Confident and compassionate communicator, able to engage effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and whanau in a culturally respectful manner\
