At Green by Nature, we're proud to be one of Auckland Council's trusted service providers. Our team is responsible for maintaining many of the region's parks, playgrounds, public spaces, and facilities. We're now looking for a skilled leader to oversee our Facilities Team.

About The Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations that meet contract requirements. This includes managing a range of essential services, such as:

  • Building and Public Facility Cleaning - toilets, community buildings, council owned buildings, and other public amenities.
  • Streetscape Maintenance - bins, street sweeping, water blasting, and other urban maintenance tasks.
  • Response Operations for any urgent call outs.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and problem-solver, making sound decisions to guide their team through sometimes unexpected challenges. Key skills and attributes include:

  • Leadership & People Management – Proven experience in recruitment, performance management, staff engagement, and training & development.
  • Financial Acumen – Ability to set targets, manage budgets, and analyze operational initiatives to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal teams and external clients.
  • Commitment to Safety – A proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring best practices and a strong safety culture.
  • A Get-It-Done Attitude – Solutions-focused, adaptable, and able to make decisions quickly to keep things moving.
  • Full NZ Driver's Licence – Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.
