About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Intensivist to join our team as a Deputy Clinical Head of Department. In this role, you will participate in clinical leadership and manage medical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Department with clinical leadership and may have allocated responsibilities and portfolios.
- Collaborate with Allied Health, Nursing, Midwifery, and corporate counterparts to deliver accountabilities.
- Develop leadership skills towards a joint or full Clinical Head post.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is a leading provider of tertiary care in the Midland region. We operate within a 34-bed footprint, with an annual workload of approximately 1500 ICU and 3000 HDU level patients. Our services include trauma care, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and burns care. We also provide a retrieval service by air and road for critical care patients.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine.
- Fellowship in the Australasian College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM).
- Be of good standing and possess strong leadership skills.
