Job Description

As a Hand Therapist at Waikato District Health Board, you will play a critical role in providing expert care to patients with traumatic upper limb conditions.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, using your knowledge of hand therapy principles and best practices to achieve optimal outcomes.

Your experience and skills will be utilized to educate and support other healthcare professionals, ensuring that our patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Registration and current annual practicing certificate with either Te Poari Whakaora Ngangahau o Aotearoa or Te Poari Tiaki Tinana o Aotearoa
  • Experience in providing care to clients with traumatic upper limb conditions
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, utilizing adult teaching principles to engage health consumers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori in practice, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
