The University of Otago's Faculty of Dentistry is renowned for its clinical and research excellence. As New Zealand's National Centre for Dentistry, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality dental care services.

We are currently seeking skilled Dental Assistants to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Preparing clinics for undergraduate and postgraduate clinical sessions
  • Providing chairside assistance to staff and students during clinical activities
  • Patient management
  • Sterilizing instruments as required

Applications from individuals who possess dual qualifications in dental assisting and sterilization are welcome.

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Dental Assistant experience
  • A valid New Zealand Dental Assistants' Certificate or equivalent qualification recognized by the Faculty of Dentistry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sterilization experience in a dental or hospital setting (a significant advantage)

This is a full-time position that offers flexible working arrangements, allowing you to balance your personal and professional commitments. You will have the autonomy to manage your time effectively and work collaboratively with your supervisor to achieve outstanding results.

The salary range for this position is $59,285 to $63,651 (pro rata, per annum), with the possibility of progressing to the top of the range.
