Healthcare Support Specialist

As a Healthcare Assistant Level 4, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients in various clinical settings, including clinics, wards, and emergency departments. Your role will involve providing patient handling assistance, maintaining patient hygiene and comfort, and ensuring Health and Safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing patient handling assistance as required, including the use of lifting equipment and assisting with walking frames and other equipment.
• Maintaining patient hygiene, comfort, and care, including assistance with patient sponging, showering, bathing, and bed making, as well as preparing patient rooms for admission.
• Completing delegated tasks promptly without constant supervision, ensuring Health and Safety compliance, and reporting incidents and accidents promptly.
• Restocking materials and completing cleaning duties as required.
Requirements:
• Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).
• Excellent people skills with empathy and compassion for all patients, as well as a reasonable level of fitness due to the nature of the role, and the ability to perform required duties, including lifting.
• Excellent spoken and written English and numeracy, as well as reliability and honesty with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to undertake police clearance (submitted on behalf) and undergo a health screening.
