Job Description

As a Data Analyst at Xero, you will be the key enabler for supporting the execution of commercial strategic initiatives in New Zealand. Your primary responsibility will be to source relevant, reliable data for sales teams, managers, and leaders via various mediums, both ad hoc and periodic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate audience reports for tailored marketing initiatives, reconciling between different data sources as needed.
  • Create insights for stakeholders in useful formats (e.g., reports, dashboards) to support business objectives.
  • Provide analysis, commentary, and guidance on data provided to assist decision making based on stakeholders' needs.
  • Improve reporting and other operational processes, automating where appropriate.
  • Build good working relationships with internal teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in an analyst position or a comparable field involving the use of SQL and Python for automation tasks (at least 1-2 years).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Critical competencies: Strong SQL Skills - regularly employ SQL queries on a day-to-day basis, knowledge of programming languages (preferably Python), proficiency in using Snowflake for data warehousing, processing, and querying, understanding of AWS stack, and statistical knowledge.
