Job DescriptionAbout the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterologist to join our team at Te Toka Tumai Auckland. As a Senior Medical Officer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the development of our Gastroenterology department, and supporting the education and training of junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist gastroenterology services to patients, including outpatient and endoscopy procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of our Gastroenterology department, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
  • Support the education and training of junior staff members, including medical students and junior doctors.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal health outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • FRACP or equivalent qualification.
  • Vocational registration in New Zealand.
  • Specialist accreditation in endoscopy recognized by the NZ Gastroenterology Society.
  • Trained in General Internal Medicine.
  • Ability to function as an autonomous consultant in a teaching hospital.
