Youth Services Librarian Position

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a librarian for children and youth. As a key member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver engaging library programs, events, and services that cater to the needs of children and youth.

About the Role

This is a Monday to Friday role working 40 hours per week, with some rostered Saturdays by agreement. You will be based in Te Puke Library and Service Centre, and will have the opportunity to work closely with the community to promote literacy, technology, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative library programs, events, and services that cater to the needs of children and youth.
  • Engage with the community, build relationships, and promote the library as a vibrant hub for learning and recreation.

Requirements:

  • A level 5 library qualification or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and programming skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
