About the Job

We're looking for a skilled Protection Technician to join our team in either Whakatane or Wellington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and conduct system tests.
  • Install protection relays and assist with field-based projects.
  • Offer technical support to engineering and operations teams, providing advice on system improvements and troubleshooting electrical network issues.
  • Work safely across all electrical network environments, including zone substations, and participate in the 24/7 on-call roster.

Essential Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • NZ Registration as an Electrician.
  • 2-5 years' experience in protection systems, SCADA, PLCs, and communication networks.
  • Strong knowledge of low and high-voltage network systems, protection design, and testing requirements.
  • Industry safety standards expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Manual NZ Driver's Licence.
