About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in a multi-disciplinary team environment that focuses on delivering exceptional mental health assessment and care to our patients. You will contribute significantly to the team by conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, formulating evidence-based treatment plans, and implementing them with older adults who have a wide range of mental health issues.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

You will work closely with your colleagues, including clinical psychologists with expertise in this area, to deliver high-quality psychological treatment to our patients. Your day-to-day activities will involve working in the community and in an inpatient mental health setting. You will be responsible for assessing patients' mental health needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and monitoring their progress.

The Team You Will Work With

This service is dedicated to providing mental health support to individuals over 65 years old. The team consists of experienced professionals, including mental health nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and community support workers. We are a close-knit team that values collaboration and teamwork.

Your Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be a registered psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate. You should have experience and skills in older persons psychology or be willing to learn and develop your skills in this area. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
