**Contribute to a Healthy Democracy**

The New Zealand Government's Electoral Commission is seeking an experienced project leader to contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the Commission. This role will play a key part in the successful preparation and conduct of General Elections, by-elections, and referenda.

As a **Project Leader**, you will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that improve services to voters. Your experience in leading operational delivery projects will help shape the future of democracy in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Managing projects from concept through to completion.
  • Identifying business needs and requirements.
  • Developing and testing solutions.
  • Sometimes your tasks might involve supporting the delivery of voting services to New Zealanders.

**Requirements**

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in leading either whole or major components of small/medium scale operational delivery projects, preferably within the public sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and articulate issues or opportunities, and design appropriate solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing practical business solutions.
  • Demonstrated communication and liaison skills with proven ability in relationship management.
  • Experience in using, and a demonstrated understanding of, recognised business tools, processes, and systems.
