About the Role

PGG Wrightson Seeds is seeking an experienced agronomist to join their team in a field-based role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert technical advice and recommendations to customers on forage and pasture selection, establishment, management, and improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in agriculture, agronomy, or a related discipline and experience with statistical programs such as Genstat or R. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to translate technical information into practical advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert technical advice and recommendations to customers on forage and pasture selection, establishment, management, and improvement
  • Assisting with forage breeding programs and farm skills development
  • Conducting field trials and demonstrations to showcase the latest pasture and forage technologies
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and support customer relationships
  • Preparing detailed reports, technical articles, and other communications to share agronomic insights and best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualification in agriculture, agronomy, or a related discipline
  • Experience with statistical programs such as Genstat or R
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate technical information into practical advice
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within the region
