Hudson requires 24-hour support in his daily life, including assistance with personal care, household tasks, and community participation. As his Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with him, encouraging independence and self-advocacy.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be flexible and adaptable, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in their role. You will also be required to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless support for Hudson.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24-hour support to Hudson, including assistance with daily routines, personal care, and household tasks.
  • Encourage Hudson's independence and self-advocacy through engagement in various activities and community programs.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Hudson, built on trust, respect, and open communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective support for Hudson, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Support Worker.

Requirements:**

  • A NZ full driver's licence and the ability to work in New Zealand.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of the role.
