**Job Overview**

Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary level hospital with a full range of elective and acute surgical specialties. We are seeking a Senior Medical Officer to join our Anaesthesia Service. As a Specialist Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing anaesthesia for a mix of general lists covering a broad range of specialist services.

The Anaesthesia Service has a strong focus on patient care and safety. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent decision making and priority setting in a clinical environment. If you have experience working in a fast-paced environment and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide anaesthesia for general lists covering a range of specialist services
  • Participate in afterhours cover during the week and 1:8 weekend call roster

**Ideal Candidate:**

  • FANZCA or equivalent qualification allowing for vocational registration with the NZ Medical Council
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
