Production Manager Role Overview

In this dynamic and challenging position, you will oversee all aspects of the boat manufacturing process from planning and scheduling to ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of boat production processes, quality control, and supply chain management.

You will lead a skilled team of production workers, monitor inventory, maintain production timelines, and collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage day-to-day production activities, ensuring boats are built on time and to specification.
  • Oversee resource coordination, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet production goals.
  • Monitor production performance, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to address any design or technical challenges during the build process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of boat production processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing teams, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of workers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in production management software and tools (ERP systems, scheduling tools, etc.).
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $NZ 80,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on experience, along with performance-based bonuses and benefits.
