**Job Description:**
We are seeking a qualified School Assistant to join our team in the Creston area Family of Schools. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs, assist teachers with lesson plans, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing individualized support to students with special needs in academic and behavioral settings.
- Assisting teachers with lesson plans, classroom activities, and student assessments.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behavior.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a smooth learning environment.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education assistance.
Requirements:
- Completion of a minimum one-year program for Education Assistants from a recognized community or technical program.
- One (1) year college level training in the Human Services field with a focus on behavior management and students with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively with students and adults, communicate appropriately, and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility in assignments and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- May be required to dispense approved medications and have a valid B.C. (Class 5) Driver's License.
