This exciting opportunity exists within the Department of Conservation's Taupo Trout Fishery team. As a Fishery Ranger, you will play a critical role in the management and conservation of a world-class wild trout recreational fishery.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team to deliver fieldwork and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the sustainability of the fishery.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including licence holders, contractors and other government agencies.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in conservation and/or fishing management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
