IHC New Zealand supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and enjoy life as part of their communities.
We are New Zealand's largest provider of services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
**The Role**
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living.
Your duties may include helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. You may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviors
- Previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care (not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support
- A full NZ driver's license
**What We Offer**
