As a Democracy Advisor at Hutt City Council, you'll play a key role in supporting the democratic process and ensuring transparency and efficiency in governance.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact at Hutt City Council. You'll work closely with our elected members, providing crucial advisory support, information services, and administrative assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for elected members, understanding their priorities, and managing requests.
  • Coordinating training, meetings, remuneration, expenses, and travel arrangements.
  • Managing governance processes, policies, and compliance, including official information requests.
  • Supporting strategic planning, elections, and special projects.
  • Ensuring confidentiality, professionalism, and political neutrality in all interactions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in local government or a governance setting.
  • Strong political acumen with the ability to navigate complex environments with discretion.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
