This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk Management Specialist to join our team in New Zealand.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day risk management activities of the business, ensuring that the first line risk and compliance arrangements are run efficiently, effectively, and consistently.

You will work closely with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally, to develop and implement a robust control framework across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage incidents/risk events end to end.
  • Maintain the risk and events register in line with internal procedures.
  • Drive actions internally to ensure risk events are well managed.
  • Liaise with and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders as required on risk-related matters.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business and risk to develop and implement a robust control framework.
  • Advocate continuous improvement initiatives to identify areas for error/risk reduction, improved quality of services and systems.
  • Produce regular reporting for clients, management, and relevant governance forums.

About the ideal candidate

  • Prior experience in a risk or compliance environment is desirable.
  • Prior or current experience in the financial services industry.
  • Sound knowledge of the NZ market with a good understanding of Kiwisaver or Wealth products (or both).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and an aptitude to learn new/tailored applications or tools.
  • Proven ability to influence to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Good communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Able to take initiative and learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry.
