About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tangata Whenua Nursing Strategist to join our team. This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of Maori culture and a commitment to advancing health equity for our communities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our Maori Leadership Office to develop and implement nursing strategies that promote cultural competence and address health inequities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nursing strategies that promote cultural competence and address health inequities
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure the effective integration of Maori health perspectives into our health service
  • Provide direction in nursing clinical excellence, workforce wellbeing, and professional development, ensuring Te Tiriti o Waitangi is applied throughout all nursing practice

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a professional nursing qualification, eligible for New Zealand registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate, post graduate qualification in nursing, health leadership, or Maori health, and demonstrated Te Tiriti o Waitangi knowledge and application to ensure Maori health gain.
