Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our financial team in Hamilton. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for reviewing all balance sheet accounts, assisting with weekly summary reports, and performing daily reviews of cash position and floorplan facility to ensure funding limits are not exceeded.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Review of all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Assist with weekly summary report of current sales, cash position and stock levels
  • Daily review of cash position and floorplan facility to ensure funding limits are not exceeded
  • Assist with preparing, producing and reviewing monthly financial statements, management reports and annual accounts
  • Assist with reviewing internal financial controls
  • Maintain and review the fixed asset register including monthly depreciation
  • Reconciliation and review of floorplan vehicle stocks, and stock inventory
  • Become the System Administrator for the business DMS

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Several years' experience working in an Accounts role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Hold a degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
  • Strong computer skills, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Effective decision-maker
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to efficiently prioritise and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
