About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit at Waipapa Hospital, Christchurch. As a key member of the Senior Nursing Team, you will play a crucial role in identifying and supporting practice improvements and implementing best practices to ensure safe and competent care delivery.

As an Advanced Practitioner in Critical Care, you will utilize your expertise to independently assess, undertake advanced clinical interventions, and coordinate care for complex patients within the specialty. Your critical reasoning and diagnostic inquiry skills will enable you to proactively anticipate patient needs and drive high-quality care.

The successful candidate will have current experience working in a New Zealand Intensive Care environment and hold a Graduate Certificate or higher relevant to Intensive Care Nursing. A willingness to engage in ongoing Postgraduate education is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.

About the Service

Our Intensive Care Unit is a tertiary level 3 ICU providing comprehensive care for cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, pediatric, and general specialty patients requiring intensive care. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality evidence-based practice, and we are committed to creating a collaborative and supportive work environment.
