About the Role
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Oncologist to join our team at Rotorua/Taupo Hospitals. As a specialist in clinical cancer medicine, you will be part of a supportive team that includes oncologists, registrars, and cancer nurse specialists. Our hospital offers a range of benefits, including Annual Continuing Medical Education Funding, allowing you to stay up-to-date with the latest medical advancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialised care across inpatient, outpatient, and day patient settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cancer treatment plans.
  • Participate in education and training programs for junior staff members.


Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the following qualifications and skills:
  • Specialist qualification in medical oncology.
  • Qualifications recognised for specialist registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise a heavy clinical workload.
  • Demonstrate a team approach to work and a collaborative working relationship with management.
