Auckland Council's Community Māori Outcomes team works towards achieving a Tāmaki Makaurau where Māori thrive by delivering our 10 mana outcomes and strategic priorities guided by Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau, our Māori outcomes performance measurement framework.
We're seeking a dynamic and passionate graduate who embodies the drive and initiative needed to thrive in this unique role. The ideal candidate will be:
- Action-Oriented: You're highly motivated and don't wait for direction to take action. You can identify opportunities or issues and independently turn them into meaningful projects or initiatives.
- A Skilled Facilitator: You have strong facilitation skills and can confidently lead meetings, create and deliver presentations, and design and run engaging workshops.
- Te Reo Māori: Fluency is highly preferred. You'll have the opportunity to use te reo Māori daily in your work, applying a Māori worldview (Te Ao Māori) to every aspect of your mahi.
- Mātauranga Māori: You have a good understanding of mātauranga Māori and tikanga Māori, which are vital to your mahi. You consistently apply mātauranga and a Māori worldview to workplace interactions, projects, and initiatives.
We welcome applications from graduates in the following disciplines: Political Studies, Humanities, or any other course of study if there is a keen interest in using your gained knowledge and experience to advance the interests of Māori within a local government context.
