Job Summary
We are seeking a Whanau Support Worker to join our team in Nelson. As a Whanau Support Worker, you will provide support to young people in their homes and communities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young people in achieving their personal dreams and goals by participating in activities such as swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping.
- Assist young people in developing new skills and achieving outcomes.
- Provide consistent support to help build positive relationships with the individuals we support.
- Educate yourself about the diverse backgrounds and needs of the individuals we support.
Requirements
- Energetic and passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, hopes, and dreams.
- Ability to look beyond presenting barriers and provide experiences that empower people to live their best lives.
- Desire to support people in learning new skills and achieving outcomes.
- Availability to work after school hours (3pm to 6pm) and some weekend work.
- Full driver's licence and ability to complete Police checks, CYRAS checks, and reference checks.
