About This Role
  • We are looking for a Speech Language Therapist to be part of our region's Learning Support team.

This permanent, full-time role will involve:

  • understanding the impact of children and young people's speech and language difficulties on their home, school, and community;
  • coordinating service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting;
  • developing and implementing strategies to support children's speech, language, and communication skills;

This opportunity offers a rewarding career experience working in a dynamic and supportive team environment. Salary range: $69,966 - $118,450 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and competencies:

  • a bachelor's or master's degree in Speech Language Therapy or an equivalent that meets the requirements of the New Zealand Speech Language Therapists Association;
  • specialist knowledge of theory, research, and practice related to speech language, child, and human development, and learning and behaviour;
  • the ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work effectively with learners, families, and teachers across diverse settings;
  • the ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenua;
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
