Day One Hapai te Haeata is a charitable trust dedicated to empowering young people through storytelling. Our organisation aims to create a supportive community that equips rangatahi with the tools, guidance, and opportunities to share their stories on screen.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and improving income-generating activities, including forming new partnerships and finding sponsorships. They will utilise their personal networks to create connections that could lead to funding relationships and coach the Day One leadership team and other trustees in fundraising techniques. Additionally, they will define leadership roles, set plans, policies, and maintain high ethical standards, while focusing on long-term goals and maintaining a helicopter view. The successful candidate will also monitor and hold management accountable.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- a strong understanding of fundraising principles and practices;
- experience in developing and implementing strategies for generating income;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- a commitment to diversity and inclusion and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
This volunteer role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the success of Day One Hapai te Haeata, while also developing your skills and experience in governance, leadership, and fundraising. You will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about creating positive change in the lives of young people.
