Job Overview

The Court Registry Officer role at Te Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, is a unique opportunity to join our team in strengthening people's trust in the law of Aotearoa, New Zealand. As a key member of the Public Defence Service, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful operation of the Court.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Court Taking: Facilitate the running of the court by introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the court.
  2. Case Management: Ensure that the Judiciary and case parties have all the necessary information, and logistics are in place to ensure cases are heard in a timely and effortless manner.
  3. Customer Service: Interact with customers on any court-related matter through face-to-face, phone, or email interactions, requiring confidence in all methods.
  4. Travel Requirements: Travel within the Waikato Courts may be necessary; therefore, a full clean New Zealand driving license is required.
