Job Description

The successful candidate will have expertise in geriatric medicine and a strong commitment to providing comprehensive services for older adults with complex age-related health problems. You will be responsible for leading our multidisciplinary team, working closely with nurses, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Providing clinical leadership and support to our inpatient, outpatient, and community services
  • Leading the development and implementation of our service strategy, ensuring alignment with our organization's goals and objectives
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote effective communication and teamwork
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community services to ensure a continuum of care for our patients
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing evaluation and refinement of our services

Requirements

  • Vocational/Specialist Registration in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and frameworks, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
