Job Description
We are seeking a motivated medical specialist to provide effective and high-quality intensive care medicine and anaesthetic services to the Northland community. The successful candidate will work across the Department of Intensive Care Medicine & Department of Anaesthesia and will participate in teaching and training resident medical staff as well as be actively involved in the consultant on call roster for ICU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing medical and nursing cover for our busy flight retrieval service in conjunction with St John and Northern Rescue Helicopter limited (NRHL)
- Overseeing approximately 480 helicopter transfers per year
- Working across a diverse population and broad range of acute medicine specialities
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in an Anaesthetist vocational scope of practice. Ideally, you will possess FCICM or an equivalent qualification; however, we are open to considering advanced trainees nearing completion of their training.
