Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Advisor Strategy & Performance to join our team at the Ministry of Social Development. This is a fixed-term/secondment role for three months until May 2025, with the possibility of extension to be reviewed closer to the time.

You will be based in our National Office location and will have a salary range of $102,533 - $124,402.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. If you have experience in strategy and performance, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will lead complex and highly visible projects, providing technical, operational and analytical advice and support. You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve organisational performance.
  • Providing advice on performance measurement, reporting and accountability processes.
  • Incorporating data into impactful advice.
  • Working under pressure to deliver quality work to tight legislative deadlines.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in organisational performance measurement, reporting and accountability processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Great relationship management skills.
