Job Description

The Senior Patient Safety Advisor will report to the Quality & Patient Safety Manager and lead a small team to improve patient safety and system resilience. This role requires a relevant clinical background and experience in patient safety, quality improvement, project management, and equity.

The primary purpose of this position is to:

  • Reduce harm associated with healthcare to consumers and their whānau.
  • Maintain and strengthen the patient safety culture across the district.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare quality concepts, reportable and adverse events, and equity within national and international settings.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and implementing patient safety initiatives.
  2. Collaborating with stakeholders to improve healthcare outcomes.
  3. Analysing data to inform decision-making.
  4. Leading a small team to achieve shared goals.
