About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Crime Investigation Specialist to join our team at the Nelson Police Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing their expertise to investigate complex cases and contribute to the safety of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into major crimes, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses;
  • Analyze data and provide expert opinions on case outcomes;
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to share information and best practices;
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and reduce crime in our community.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years' experience in police training and investigative work;
  • Successful completion of the Major Crime Investigative course;
  • Experience operating under the Major Case Management model;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with various community members;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
