Job Description
We are seeking two dedicated Kaiarohi / AOD Practitioners to join our Te Whare Rauangi team. As a Kaiarohi Practitioner, you will work directly with whanau to support and empower them on their journey to recovery. You will provide them with the tools, resources and guidance to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals and aspirations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Lived or work experience in AOD within Maori and Pasifika communities is essential. Experience working with Maori and Pasifika communities in the health and/or social services spaces is also required. A deep understanding of Te Ao Maori, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally appropriate practices including accessing Rongoa and other traditional healing modalities is necessary. The ability to empower and motivate people to reflect on their lives and make positive decisions for themselves and their whanau is also essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn and share Matauranga are all important qualities for this role.
