Auckland Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist Advisor - Community Development to join our Community Programme Delivery team. In this role, you will work with diverse communities across Auckland to develop and implement community-led projects that bring about positive change.

Our Community Wellbeing Specialists focus on building community capability, aligned with the Auckland Plan and Thriving Communities action plan. As a key member of our team, you will build strong relationships within the communities you are working with, act as trusted partners, and be accountable for delivering great results.

You will contribute to and lead work that tackles some of the toughest issues facing Auckland communities, providing evidence-based advice to inform elected member priorities and decision-makers. Working within an environment that encourages innovation and impact, you will thrive on collaboration and delivering outcomes.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with communities, self-driven, and comfortable with complexity and ambiguity. Your outstanding track record in project managing and delivering collaborative, results-focused work programmes will serve you well in this role.

You must have excellent relationship building and management skills, as well as experience working with Māori and Pasifika communities. Your ability to engage diverse communities and provide strategic advice at the governance level will be invaluable.

In addition to your extensive community development expertise, you will possess a full NZ driver's licence or be able to travel independently. Self-management of a working week, including attending occasional community events outside of traditional working hours, is also essential.
