As a Senior Technical Specialist at BEUMER Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
You will have extensive experience with Siemens PLC, Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), IT networks, distributed I/O systems, and Step 7, as well as a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
Your technical expertise will enable you to identify and resolve complex issues, optimise system performance, and provide expert advice to customers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Erect and commission new logistics sortation systems, utilising advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Lead modifications and enhancements of existing equipment to improve performance, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct service interventions, inspections, repairs, and maintenance to minimise downtime, applying a proactive approach to system management.
- Provide breakdown support and troubleshooting for equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Support Customer Support Sales and Project Management in delivering high-quality service, fostering strong relationships with clients.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety practices and operational guidelines, promoting a culture of Zero Harm within the workplace.
- Must hold a current NZ Electrical Service Technician's electrical license.
- Relevant working rights in New Zealand.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Siemens PLC, Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), IT networks, distributed I/O systems, and Step 7 is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, demonstrating a solid understanding of technical documentation.
- Understanding of OH&S practices, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools, leveraging technology to enhance productivity.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dedicated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional results.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and results.
- Willingness to travel, with flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Scissor lift and forklift certifications (advantageous).
