We are seeking a seasoned Building Automation Systems Technician to join our team at 1M. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our building automation systems. Your primary duties will include performing regular maintenance checks, identifying system faults, and resolving complex system issues. You will also be responsible for monitoring BMS to track system performance, implementing corrective actions, and reducing operational costs. Furthermore, you will offer system performance improvements to clients, develop and modify BMS control strategies and configurations, set up and program controllers, sensors, actuators, and other system components. In addition, you will maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and performance metrics, provide technical support and training to clients and maintenance staff on BMS operation and best practices, integrate BMS with other building systems, and develop and update standard operating procedures for BMS operations. To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of Building Management Systems, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight spaces. An Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, BMS-specific certifications) are a plus. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field is also necessary. Finally, proficiency in BMS software (e.g., Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell EBI), programming languages (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), and a comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical systems are essential. Relevant certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or specific manufacturer certifications (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls) are advantageous. We require applicants to have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. If you meet these requirements and are interested in this position, please apply and attach a CV and cover letter.
