About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team in providing specialist mental health services for children and adolescents between birth and 19 years. The ideal candidate will have vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand or hold an equivalent qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents with moderate-to-severe mental health conditions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in child and adolescent mental health care.
About Our Team:
The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) serves the lower North Island of New Zealand, providing specialist mental health services to children and adolescents. We strive to provide a supportive, flexible working environment that promotes staff well-being and encourages professional growth.
Requirements:
- Vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand or hold an equivalent qualification.
- Specialty Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is essential.
- Ability to work comfortably and flexibly within a team environment.
