About the Job
This role involves supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities who require assistance with daily living tasks. The successful candidate will need to be patient, understanding, and empathetic, with a focus on promoting independence and self-advocacy.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, particularly those with challenging behaviour and complex needs. However, we also consider candidates with relevant life experience and the right attitude.
- Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours and de-escalating situations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
- Proficiency in using computers and tablets daily.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
- A Full NZ driver's license.
