Park Maintenance Specialist

As an Urban Landscape Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing Hamilton's park network. This role requires a high level of expertise in horticulture, with a focus on ensuring the city's parks are beautiful, fun, connected, and meet the community's needs.
About the Team
You will be part of a dedicated team that values teamwork and inclusiveness. Our team works collaboratively to achieve our goals and supports each other to ensure we deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of street landscapes
- Supporting gardening activities across the city
- Assist the wider team at times
- Implementing irrigation systems
Requirements
- Minimum of New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Level 3) Amenity or similar qualification
- Grow Safe qualification would be advantageous
- Experience with traffic management set-ups and compliance along with Traffic Controller/ STMS qualification
- Current Full New Zealand Driver License
- Experience in preparation and application of agrichemicals
- Good understanding and experience to identify and control plant pests and diseases
- Good communication skills
- Solid work ethic and willingness to work in all weathers
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements working in this industry
- Good knowledge of amenity plants
