The Ministry of Health is seeking a skilled Medicine Quality Specialist to join our Product Safety team. As a Medicine Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of medicines in New Zealand.

  • Monitor and Investigate Quality Issues: Monitor reports of quality concerns and investigate potential breaches of medicines legislation.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Systems: Work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement quality systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders on quality matters.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with regulators, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure the quality and safety of medicines.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Quality Standards: Stay informed about changes to quality standards and best practices affecting the healthcare sector.

Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably pharmacy or other sciences with an emphasis on medicines.
  • Extensive experience in quality assurance, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop effective solutions to complex quality issues.
