Job Overview
We're seeking an excellent software engineer with a product-building mindset to join our team in building a next-generation interconnection and SDN-based platform - Equinix Internet Exchange. As a key member of the Equinix Product Engineering function, you'll be involved in the software development life cycle, focusing on delivering solutions for Interconnection product systems.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Hands-on architecture, design, development, automation testing, and support of software products and solutions.
  • Interacting with stakeholders to understand and document product features.
  • Providing level of effort (LOE) for product backlogs.
  • Working with technical project managers and product management teams to define detailed user stories and prepare schedules.
  • Integrating software products with other systems, testing interfaces, and managing version control.
  • Assisting in the analysis and evaluation of new technologies to meet the demand for the product roadmap and technology platform goals.
  • Helping in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies for product features and platforms.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with at least 1-2 years of professional software development experience.
  • Professional experience architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining customer-facing applications at scale in an innovative engineering environment.
  • Strong programming foundation with knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Minimum 3+ years full-stack expertise in application design and development with Java technologies, including Spring, JPA/Hibernate, message queues, and workflow engines with layered-microservices architecture.
  • Minimum of 1+ years expertise in writing test automation scripts using Karate and Cypress.
  • DevSecOps mindset to improve CICD using GitHub Actions and review DORA metrics to improve processes and consistently write fully secure code.
  • Knowledge on NexusIQ, SonarQube, Sonar Linting, DAST scans, DDoS attacks, defensive coding, and penetration testing concepts.
  • Nice to have 1+ years of experience with JavaScript, ReactJS, and HTML5/CSS3.
  • Experience with database and caching technologies (Postgres, Oracle, Redis, and Timeseries Databases).
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery using public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Rancher, etc.).
  • Experience in architecting and building large-scale systems using scale-out architecture that require high availability, performance, high scalability, and multi-tenancy.
