Job Overview
Auckland Council seeks a talented Urban Planning Specialist, Intermediate to join our team in Central Auckland. In this role, you will process resource consent applications, work collaboratively with colleagues, and contribute to the development of high-quality outcomes.

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a resource consent officer with experience in urban planning to make a meaningful contribution to Auckland Council's mission. As a senior planner, you will have the chance to work on various projects, apply your expertise, and mentor junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess resource consent applications and provide recommendations that foster high-quality outcomes
- Attend Council hearings as a reporting planner and represent Council as an expert witness
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives
- Assist the Team Leader with mentoring and developing junior planners

Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in urban planning or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991
- Excellent case management skills
- A restricted or full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
