Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand The Urban Advisory Full time

The Urban Advisory is a team of urban advisors on a mission to create healthier and more equitable homes, neighborhoods, towns, and cities. We take an outcomes-focused approach and provide end-to-end integrated solutions that consider spatial implications, data as evidence, and the real-life limitations and contexts that need to be worked within. Our team is dedicated to getting the right balance between delivering ambitious outcomes, commercial viability, and deliverability in urban projects.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Urban Strategist located in Auckland. The Urban Strategist will be responsible for supporting the Directors across a range of different projects. This is a dynamic role, which would be best suited to someone who can think and do quickly, is adaptable, and doesn't mind a wide variety of work. Applicants must have an understanding of the urban and housing systems that are at play in Aotearoa. Day-to-day tasks include research and analysis, strategy development, providing advice about the implementation and delivery of precincts and city strategy, supporting the design, delivery, and rollout of new technologies that will change the way we undertake spatial modelling and land use and transport planning in New Zealand, and much more. If you have design skills, that is an added bonus and will put you at the top of the pile, but is not essential.

  • Systems thinking intuition
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Urban planning, spatial analysis, and strategic thinking skills
  • Stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Project management and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
