About the Job
Our organization is seeking an experienced health professional to join our team as a Mental Health Clinician in the Whakatane area. This role will be responsible for delivering early intervention mental health and wellbeing guidance, support, and services within Kaupapa Māori Kura.
The Mana Ake service is a collaborative effort between health and education, enabling the delivery of support where initial discovery of wellbeing needs is often identified in a community setting. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work closely with tamariki, whānau, and community groups to develop and deliver evidence-informed individual, group, and whole-class wellbeing programs/interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement culturally responsive wellbeing programs/interventions for tamariki and whānau
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and community leaders to provide comprehensive support
- Build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and community groups to foster trust and understanding
- Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative wellbeing initiatives
Requirements
- Current registration as a registered nurse or allied health professional
- Proven experience working with community, tamariki, and whānau
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing circumstances
- Commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner and applying Te Tiriti principles in all actions
