About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for current NZ Bachelor of Midwifery Programme students to gain hands-on experience while studying. As a Midwifery Assistant, you will work alongside experienced midwives and other health professionals to provide a safe and positive birthing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to midwives with patient care
  • Assisting with cleaning and preparation of birthing rooms
  • Caring for babies, including bathing, changing nappies, and settling
  • Supporting women with showering and meal times
  • Completing clerical duties and other tasks as required

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to be motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic. Excellent communication skills and a high level of initiative are essential. Previous experience working with people in a caring capacity is advantageous, but not necessary.
