Job Description

The role of the Manufacturing Process Specialist is to operate the Drying Plant efficiently and effectively, following all plant standard operating procedures and carrying out instructions as detailed in the risk management plan.

This position ensures that all plant activities comply with quality systems, relevant safety systems, legislation and codes of practice. The Manufacturing Process Specialist must meet Plant KPI's around plant changeovers and production specifications to ensure production targets are met.

About the Responsibilities:

Operating a spray drier and related processes.

Manufacturing a range of nutritional dairy powders to high quality standards.

Completing all documentation requirements within agreed timeframes.

Solving operating problems using appropriate problem-solving methods.

Escalating plant issues to the Team Leader as appropriate.

Achieving timely and thorough product changeovers.

Ensuring all ingredients and materials are stored, handled and transported appropriately.

Working effectively as a team, to ensure all production plans and timeframes are met.

Providing on-the-job training to fellow staff members.

Providing relief and support to the other shift team members.

Communicating effectively across all shifts and with all plant members.

The role involves a 4x4 roster including day and night shifts.

Key Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience in food processing environments.
  • Spray drying experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of process equipment and control.
  • Experience in the application of quality systems and improvement of systems.
  • Previous experience with HMI, business computer systems, and ERP software.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude or previous process operation experience.
  • High level of documentation accuracy.
