About the Role

As a key member of Downer's Engineering Solutions Division, you will be responsible for designing and estimating asset renewal projects, customer-initiated projects, major tenders, and defect resolutions in the Northern Region.

You will work closely with electrical distributors across the North Island to deliver high-quality engineering design and estimation services to various clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering high-quality engineering design and estimation services, including providing quotations.
  • Performing quality audits of onsite work to ensure compliance with contract documents, design and construction standards, legislation, regulations, and network operating standards.
  • Providing detailed scopes of work, proposals, reports, handover packages, and commissioning documents.
  • Oversight of projects according to specifications, budget, and deadlines.
  • Ensuring resources are efficiently coordinated with the project plan.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge of electricity distribution networks and experience in design & pricing. You may be an experienced Line Mechanic, Cable Jointer, or Electrician looking to advance your career into design, or an experienced Electrical Engineer or Designer/Estimator in the power distribution industry ready to make an immediate impact.

A key requirement is the ability to engage with key stakeholders up and downstream. You must possess good communication skills.
